velqazir Dome Spun Aluminium Pendant Light

Dome is the workhorse of the velqazir pendant range, and it's the one we'd put in our own kitchens. A 32 cm shade spun from a single sheet of aluminium, with a white enamelled interior that pushes light straight down onto the counter — the direction you want it when you're chopping, plating, or reading a recipe off a phone.

The spun construction matters. Because the shade is formed from one continuous piece of metal on a lathe rather than folded from a flat sheet, there is no seam, no weld line and no weak corner. The rim is rolled, not cut, so it's smooth to the touch and won't snag on a sleeve. The outside is finished in a durable matte powder coat; the inside is gloss white, which is where the light gain comes from.

Proportionally, this is the diameter that works over an island or a peninsula: big enough to light a 90 cm run of counter, small enough that two or three of them read as a rhythm rather than a wall of fixtures. Hang them 75–85 cm above the worktop and you get pools of light with soft falloff between them — the professional kitchen look, without the commercial-kitchen coldness.

It takes a standard bulb, dims on any wall dimmer, and weighs under a kilo, which means it hangs from a standard junction box with no extra bracing. Installation is genuinely a fifteen-minute job.
